We recently shot the technologically advanced FLITE XT® cross-training socks with Swiftwick athlete and fitness guru Amanda Foland.
When she's not on scene shooting her best fitness moves with us, she's a personal trainer at her own studio with a degree in exercise science. She's a strong, fierce and motivated athlete (like we all aspire to be), plus she likes to have a ton of fun doing it all. We asked her what keeps her challenged and focused in the gym and in life – here's what she had to say.
My degree is in exercise science, pre-physical therapy. I started training clients while in college for extra income and soon found it was my more than a hobby. When I was able to not only help people feel better on a daily basis, but improve their futures, it was a huge eye-opener to take me to my next steps.
After a rotation in college with a physical therapist, I saw the opportunity as a personal trainer was the path I wanted to pursue. Having my own studio now, I see the impact that I have on others’ lives and it’s a blessing.
I love being outside, so you can find me in the garden, digging in the dirt and enjoying the beauty around me.
Balance is key! I love a good burger; that is something that hits the spot after a long ride every time!
I have truly enjoyed the community around Swiftwick. From other athletes/ambassadors, employees and fellow lovers of Swiftwick. I will be out riding and see another cyclist rocking Swiftwick’s and holler to them “great socks!”
The product is one thing, the community is another; and I have really enjoyed both.
I love the new FLITE XT; but I have always been an ASPIRE girl. The way they hug my feet and have the perfect amount of support is spot on.
In 2019 my goal professionally is to hire another personal trainer at Fit Studio; and develop them into their best. Personally I would love to compete in two 70.3’s in which both I achieve a sub 5 hour race.
My husband and I decided to ride a course in Georgia called the Three Gap or Six Gap. It’s a route that many travel to ride. The ride was 62 miles; and one climb was 8 miles long which took me 50 minutes to climb. Elevation gain for the ride was 6,385 feet. That is a lot of climbing.
Can’t beat a good sunrise on the bike. Take me outside, on my bike, and I will take you places that create memories that last a lifetime.
My music choices change based on my mood, but two that stand ou right now are:
